The first opera showcase of its kind in Austin, Fresh Squeezed Ounce of Opera’s focus is on new operas, 10-20 minutes in length. After a competitive national call for submissions, The Stranger the Better by Vynnie Meli and Liam Wade has been selected as one of this year’s winners.

Hartford Opera Theater presents The Stranger the Better on its seventh annual “New in November”, new opera works workshop and festival!
The festival will take place November 18-20, 2016 and up to 6 new opera selections will receive a workshop performance.
After a competitive call for composer submissions, The Stranger the Better by Vynnie Meli and Liam Wade has been selected as one of this year’s winners.

Snapshot is your chance to hear excerpts from new operas by both emerging and established Northern California composers in intimate concert settings. After an overwhelming response to our call for scores, eight composers’ works were selected for Snapshot’s inaugural year.
The chamber orchestra features members of San Francisco-based new music ensemble Earplay and will be led by Earplay’s Mary Chun and West Edge Opera Musical Director Jonathan Khuner.
