One Ounce Opera presents Part of the Act on the 1st Annual Fresh Squeezed Ounce of Opera!
The first “mini-opera-showcase” of it’s kind in Austin, Fresh Squeezed Ounce of Opera’s focus is on new short contemporary operas, 10-20 minutes in length. After a competitive national call for composer submissions, Part of the Act by John Grimmett and Liam Wade has been selected as one of this year’s winners.

I will write a new short opera for the The Atlanta Opera sixth annual 24-Hour Opera Project®.
Here’s the idea: An entire opera written and performed in 24 hours.
Teams of composers, librettists, stage directors, singers, and accompanists (selected at random) will compose, stage, and rehearse original operas – all within 24 hours.
My new Sci-fi Cabaret Opera, Susannah 2000 Songbook with Libretto by Dara Weinberg, will be premiering in May 2016 on North American New Opera Workshop’s Sci-Fi Nite at McMicken Free Space, Cincinnati, Ohio.

Congratulations to Jennifer Piazza-Pick and pianist Cheryl Cellon Lindquist whos art song recital was featured on Hawaii Public Radio for winning the HPR International Art Song Contest 2015.
A portion of their recital, “A Heart’s Journey” was featured on the HPR program “Singing and other Sins”, and included my songs “Afternoon on a Hill” and “Wraith”.

The Asylum Quartet and composer Liam Wade will be teaming up to collaborate on a new piece that will premiere in 2016. Also in the works, a residency and recording project for early fall.

The Asylum Quartet is a prominent emerging chamber ensemble based in Hartford, Connecticut, engaging broad audiences through public concerts, composer commissions, outreach programs and residencies, and dissemination of recordings.
